Connect your Deal Files to DVLA vehicle data

Auto eDocs connects to the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service (VES) using the vehicle registration recorded in the Deal File. Your team can compare the returned vehicle details with the expected vehicle while working with its documents.

01

Information from DVLA

VES supplies registration-based vehicle information such as make, colour, fuel type, year of manufacture, tax status and MOT status. It can also provide tax and MOT dates, first-registration information and the last V5C issue date. Individual fields depend on the information DVLA holds.

02

A result with a check time

Auto eDocs keeps the result with the Deal File and shows when it was last checked. Authorised users can request a refresh and review previous checks. A changed registration is treated as a different vehicle lookup, helping prevent an earlier vehicle's details being mistaken for the current one.

03

Useful beyond the initial check

Keeping the MOT expiry date with the deal supports configured reminder workflows and service follow-up. It also provides a foundation for potential MOT reminders through the Customer Portal. Part Exchange vehicle verification is a forthcoming extension.

04

Understand what the check covers

VES helps cross-check the recorded vehicle details. It does not establish customer ownership or provide a full MOT test history, outstanding-finance check or vehicle provenance report. Tax and MOT information reflects the last successful check.
